Despite a back to approve bogeys at the closing two holes. Mumias-based professional Dismas Indiza comfort managed an impressive four under par 68 to claim the top prize during the weekend’s Johnnie Walker play series at Sigona Golf Club.
Indiza who is the Johnnie Walker Golf Series defending back had fired two under par 70 in the opening go which included three birdies an eagle and three bogeys to overlap the first round with Royal’s Charan Thethy and the on-form Riz Charania of Windsor.
During the back up round of the Sh175,000 event Indiza birdied the second and fourth for two under par 34. He was on course to establish a new pro course record until he bogeyed the 17th and 18th after collecting birdies at the 10th. 11th. 12th and 15th for another two under 34. This gave him a two-round total of six under par 138 and a win by two shots from Muthaiga’s Kopan Timbe.
Timbe also made 68 in the final go with an impressive 33 at the lie nine that included four birdies and a bogey and 35 at the approve nine where he birdied the 15th and 17th with only one shoot at the 11th for 140.
Jacob Okello made 70 for 142 to end in third place while both Thethy and Charania returned 73 in the second go to tie for the fourth consider on 143.
Tying for the sixth prize on 144 were South Africa based Anil Shah and Nyanza Sports Club’s David Odhiambo. Shah shot 73 while Odhiambo fired 71.
Home pro John Kiondo was on his own with 145 after rounds of 74 and 71 while one of the country’s leading amateurs. Ganeev Giddie fired 72 and 74 to tie with Nakuru’s James Lorum
